Thank you for visiting NelisCustoms.com, unfortunately you've reached us at a time when we are unable to help you the customer. After long consideration, I have decided to close the business. We are remaining open only to serve the customers we currently have contracted work in progress with currently and to honor the warranties of those marine customers who purchased a Nelis Customs product within the past 12 months.
Serving the Pittsburgh Boating community and our many commercial and residential canvas & upholstery customers has been an absolute pleasure since Nelis Customs opened in 2008.
This pending closure is not the result of what one would typically expect such as declining business or really any negative reason at all, it would have been an easier decision to make if that were the case. Instead, despite having our best year ever in 2011, the closure is the result of being a contributing factor in two successful businesses residing in completely distant industries and being forced to make a tough decision. Unfortunately, after much thought I have decided to bow out of the canvas & upholstery business despite knowing deep down Nelis Customs was merely starting to fill the enormous gap in the boating market for such a business here in the greater Pittsburgh area. If there were a way for it to be possible, I'd continue to do the job I've loved since the day I opened Nelis Customs, but simply put I've exhausted my options and despite it's success over the years, I'm afraid it's time to call it quits.
I'd like to thank the hundreds of customers who chose Nelis Customs for their canvas & upholstery needs over the past four years. It truly has been a pleasure getting to know you, your families, your boats and or businesses along this incredible journey. The friendships I have made in this venture make this decision even harder, but unfortunately this specialized industry takes years to learn and many more to perfect so finding the help necessary to allow the business to continue without 110% of my time isn't in the cards.
Those who have come to trust Nelis Customs and our commitment to our customers will hopefully understand my dedication to producing superior products AND providing superior customer service is what ultimately led to this closure. Simply put, I know I cannot continue to deliver what you've come to expect and I'd be letting down both of us by keeping the business going.
Thanks again - and keep an eye out for me on the water this season. I plan to spend as much time afloat as usual - only this year it will be on my own boat!
